Kelly Yang

Kelly Yang, LCSW

Kelly is a Licensed Clinical Social Worker (LCSW) with a Master’s Degree in Social Work from Metropolitan State University in Denver. She has spent the early years of her career working as a Clinical Therapist for community-based mental health programs, providing counseling and diagnostic services to clients ranging from early adolescence to later adulthood. Kelly’s clinical expertise stems from supporting individuals experiencing depression, anxiety, post trauma experiences and mood disorders. Additionally, her background as a School-based Mental Health Therapist has provided her with a strong skill set in working with teens, parents, families & treating a wide array of relational, behavioral and mental health diagnoses.

Kelly strives to create a safe, comfortable and authentically non-judgemental environment in her counseling office. She deeply values the importance of the therapeutic relationship and meets her clients EXACTLY where they are. She offers a thoughtful balance of warm, supportive validation while gently challenging her clients as is in their best interest.

Kelly offers a unique, individualistic approach to accommodate her client’s intimately personal experience, needs and desired goals for therapy. She is passionate about encouraging her clients to make sense out of their most difficult experiences while supporting their ability to build their own insight. Kelly wants to see her clients develop the self-awareness and skills to meaningfully identify and meet their emotional needs. She spends careful time with each client, learning about many different areas of their life, in order to comprehensively provide a TRULY holistic & tailored counseling experience.

In her free time, Kelly enjoys being out in nature hiking, kayaking and loves playing disc golf! She enjoys settling down with a good book and spending quality time with her family. Kelly sees herself as a huge plant lover – except for succulents, as she admittedly struggles to keep those alive! 😊

Kelly’s Favorite Quote: “Remember, if you ever need a helping hand, it’s at the end of your arm. As you get older, remember you have another hand: The first is to help yourself, the second is to help others.” -Audrey Hepburn

Bet you didn’t know: Kelly is a (self-proclaimed) nerd & loves the Lord of the Rings, playing the board game, Catan & reading fantasy books!

Bonus Facts:   Kelly spent several years living on the east coast in Maine, prior to moving back to her home state of Colorado!
