Alayna Baillod, LCSW is a Clinical Supervisor, the Owner of Self Care Impact Counseling, LLC and is EMDRIA Approved EMDR Consultant & EMDR Therapist. She is extensively trained in Gottman Couples Therapy (Level 1 & 2), Emotion- Focused Therapy (EFT), Dialectical Behavioral Therapy (DBT), Somatic Therapy, Internal Family Systems (IFS – “Parts Work”), Attachment Theory, Imago Theory, Polyvagal Theory, Narrative Therapy, Mindful Self Compassion and she utilizes a Psychodynamic approach in her clinical work.
Alayna is as real as-it-gets! Clients see Alayna as down-to-Earth, relatable, having a good sense of humor (& using it!) and confident in sharing her therapeutic expertise. She is a compassionate therapist who has comprehensive training and strives to meet clients where they’re at while providing an appropriate amount of challenge to gently push clients to grow beyond their comfort zone. You can expect a supportive, guiding and grounded presence in the counseling room with Alayna.
Alayna has earned a Bachelor’s Degree in Social Work from Colorado State University-Pueblo and a Master’s Degree in Social Work from the University of Tennessee- Knoxville. Her early experience was centered around working with children, adolescents, young adults and families who have experienced trauma. In her private practice, she specializes in providing clinical supervision, Couples Counseling, EMDR (Trauma Therapy), healing from codependency and narcissistic abuse.
Alayna understands the courage and vulnerability required to seek help and is empathetic, strength-based and solution-focused in her approach. She is deeply passionate about helping people thrive and reach their goals. She believes all emotions have a job – to bring something to our attention, to give us information about our world, sometimes to give us the motivation to take action. Alayna sees her role as a therapist to help you better understand yourself and to teach you tools and skills so that you can be effective in your life.
In her free time, Alayna practices yoga, enjoys hiking, foraging for wild mushrooms, live music, scuba diving, ceramics, spending time with her family, friends and pets– two cats, three ducks & two bunnies. She also loves dogs and dreams of having a therapy dog someday! Alayna is a big fan of camping and loves trying new foods. Recently, Alayna has been spending a lot of time working on new ‘hands on’ projects and has recently converted a shed in her backyard into a tiny home.

Bet you didn’t know: Alayna has spent more than 500 days primitively camping in remote depths of the wilderness. She lived in the desert of southern Utah for three consecutive months at age sixteen! She has always preferred the outdoors to indoors, even as a young child.
