Based in Longmont, Colorado

Megan Corcoran works with couples in the Longmont area who are struggling with recurring conflict, infidelity, or feeling emotionally disconnected. Her approach centers on the body’s role in relationships—how tension, defensiveness, and shutdown live in our nervous systems, not just our minds. While she sees individuals and families too, most of her work focuses on helping partners find their way back to each other.

Megan: In Her Own Words

“I believe that healthy relationships are the foundation of a fulfilling life. With over 20 years of experience, I have seen that relationship distress is often a physiological experience held in the nervous system. When we are in conflict, our bodies often go into a ‘fight or flight’ mode that makes communication feel impossible.

My goal is to create a safe space where couples can use Somatic Experiencing and the Gottman Method to move beyond feeling stuck. We work together to calm the nervous system and move toward a state of deep connection and shared meaning.”

The Challenge: When Talking Doesn’t Fix It

A lot of couples come in after trying books, podcasts and long conversations that go nowhere. You’re saying the same things, having the same fights, and nothing shifts. Maybe you feel more like roommates than partners. Or you’re constantly walking on eggshells. Talk therapy can only go so far when the issue is rooted deeper than words.

The Solution: Body-Based Work Meets Proven Methods

I combine the research-backed Gottman Method with Somatic Experiencing to address what’s actually driving the disconnection. We look at how your bodies react during conflict. Tightness, the shutdown, the surge of defensiveness and work with that directly. It’s a fuller picture of what’s really going on between you.

The Result: Getting Back to Each Other

Couples I work with tell me they finally understand what’s been happening under the surface. They learn how to regulate themselves when things heat up, and how to reach for each other instead of pulling away. Trust gets rebuilt. Conversations get easier. And most importantly, they feel like partners again, instead of being adversaries.

We can decide to be happy, make much out of little, and embrace the warmth of our ordinary days. Life unfolds as a mystery. An enterprise whose outcome cannot be foretold. We do not get what we expect. We stumble on cracks, are faced with imperfection, and bonds are tested and tightened. And our landscapes shift in sunshine and in shade.
There is light.
There is.
Look for it.
Look for it shining over your shoulder on the past.
It was light where you went once.
It was light where you are now.
It will be light where you will go again.
