Self Care Impact Counseling - Longmont

Therapy Close to Home in Longmont

You have probably driven past our office and did not even realize it. We are at 438 Terry Street in Old Town Longmont, on one of those tree-lined blocks in the West Side Historic District where the houses have been standing since before your grandparents were born. It is a quiet street. The kind of place where you can park right out front, take a breath, and not feel like you are walking into a medical building.

That was intentional.

Therapy works better when the space does not feel clinical. And it works better when getting there is not a production. If you live in the Loomiller, Southmoor, Garden Acres, or Kensington neighborhoods, you are five minutes away. Coming from Prospect or the East Side? About the same. Driving in from Erie or down the I-25 corridor from Firestone, Frederick, or Mead? You are 15 to 20 minutes from our front door, with none of the parking headaches that come with a Boulder practice. Even if you are coming from Niwot, Lyons, or down the Diagonal from Boulder, our office is right off Main Street and easy to find.

We have a team of 5 therapists, and between them, they cover a lot of ground: anxiety, depression, trauma, couples counseling, grief, and more. We work with teens, adults, couples, new parents, neurodivergent individuals, and people who are just tired of feeling stuck and ready to try something different. Every client gets matched with a therapist whose training and approach actually fit what they are dealing with, not whoever happens to have the next open slot.

Longmont has always been the kind of place where people look out for each other. Asking for help fits right in with that. Call us at 720-551-4553 for a brief phone consultation. No pressure. Just a conversation to see if we are the right fit for what you need.

Why Self Care Impact in Longmont

Do you have a physical office in Old Town Longmont?

Yes. Our office is at 438 Terry Street, in the heart of Old Town Longmont’s West Side Historic District. We are two blocks west of Main Street, directly across from the historic Longmont Carnegie Library and a short walk from Roosevelt Park. The space is in a historic building rather than a medical complex, which is intentional — therapy works better when the room you walk into does not feel like a doctor’s office.

Is parking easy at your Longmont office?

Yes. We offer convenient free street parking directly in front of the office on Terry Street. Unlike trying to find parking in downtown Boulder or near the busier stretches of Main Street, you can almost always pull up right out front, take a breath, and walk straight in.

What is the commute like from Erie or the I-25 corridor?

It is an easy drive. From Erie, take Highway 287 north or Arapahoe Road to County Line Road and you are at our office in about 15-20 minutes. From Firestone, Frederick, or Mead, hop on I-25 and exit at Highway 119 (Ken Pratt Blvd) — you are 12-15 minutes out. From Niwot or Lyons, Highway 66 or the Diagonal brings you in even faster. Many clients tell us the drive itself becomes part of the process, a quiet stretch of time to shift gears before a session and decompress on the way home.

What are your fees, and are there any hidden costs?

Our pricing is transparent and discussed before you start. Sessions are $125 to $200 depending on clinician credential level. Your intake will include a clear review of session rates, cancellation policies, and any optional services so you can make an informed decision. No surprises.

Do you accept insurance or provide superbills?

If you are using out of network benefits, we can typically provide documentation for reimbursement. We can also help you understand what questions to ask your insurer so you have clarity on expected costs before you commit to anything.

Can I do therapy less often to reduce cost?

Absolutely. Many people start weekly and then shift to every other week as they build skills and stability. We will collaborate on a pace that fits both your goals and your budget.

Do you have a sliding scale or options if cost is a concern?

We aim to keep rates accessible up front, and we will talk with you about options that fit your budget. In many cases we can suggest a cadence that still supports progress, plus lower cost resources when appropriate.

Do you serve clients from Erie, Niwot, and the surrounding areas?

Yes. While our office is in Old Town Longmont, our location right off Highway 119 and Highway 66 makes us a convenient and popular choice for clients in Erie, Niwot, Lyons, Firestone, Frederick, Lafayette, Louisville, and the broader Boulder County area. Many clients tell us they prefer driving to our Old Town office over fighting Boulder traffic for a similar appointment.

Why choose an Old Town Longmont practice over a Boulder one?

Old Town has always been the kind of place where people look out for each other, and we wanted our practice to feel like part of that fabric. Our office is in a historic Terry Street building, not a clinical complex. Parking is easy. The pace is calmer. And our team includes specialists trained in Gottman Method, EMDR, IFS, and somatic approaches — meaning you do not have to drive to Boulder to access the same depth of clinical training.

Is specialized therapy worth the drive for clients in Erie or Firestone?

Yes, and most of our I-25 corridor clients tell us the drive is shorter than they expected. Local generalist options do not always offer the clinical depth needed for complex trauma, high-conflict relationship loops, or specialized couples work. Driving 15-20 minutes to our Longmont office gives you access to specialists trained in Gottman, EMDR, and IFS — the kind of training that moves therapy beyond just talking about problems toward genuine recovery.

Healthy relationships are the foundation of a fulfilling life. Whether you’re strengthening a partnership, navigating the challenges of parenting, or finding your way through a difficult transition, we’re here to help you grow together.
